Setting
Trigun takes place somewhere in the future on a desert planet. This desert planet is sufficient for human life, but
it is sincerely rare to ever see any green on this planet, as it is covered with sand. The normal everyday people are in a
old western sort of feel. Bandits, outlaws, cowboy type of guys.
The Jist of it
Trigun combines hilarious, belly laugh type of humor with a compelling story, cool characters, suspenseful action,
and some of the most creepy villians ever created. The main character, Vash the Stampede, is one of the (if not the) greatest
character ever made. His past is a mystery and as the story progresses the more is revealed. Vash, although constantly hunted
by criminals and bandits for the $$60,000,000,000 bounty on his head, tries to never even harm a soul. In fact through the
first half of the show the only ones that are hurt are either from self-inflicted damage, or from a fellow bandit firing upon
them. From the looks of it, Vash is nothing more than a meer goofball, but theres much evidence to prove that he is more than
meets the eye. So is this 'Legendary Outlaw' really the ruthless murder the stories say he is? Or is he a saint that helps
lost souls in need of healing? Or is he just a very lucky goofball that somehow finds himself in a whole heeping pile of big
trouble? The only way to find out is to watch the show, cuz I aint gonna ruin it for ya. ;)
What is it most like?
Its hard to say really. Trigun is so unique and original it is hard to compare it to any other anime. However if I
had say one anime it closely resembles, that is Cowboy Bebop. The music is the most similar, some of the songs are so similar
I actually thought for a second that the same people made the music for both shows. It is also similar in the storyline. Both
Vash (Trigun) and Spike (Cowboy Bebop) have pasts that constantly catch up to them. And neither one wants to deal with the
past but is forced to in one way or another. If I HAD to choose which was better, my brain would fry because they are both
so great! LoL, but seriously if I HAD to choose one anime that is superior I would probably choose Cowboy Bebop. Bebop beats
Trigun in story, atmosphere, look, and music. However Trigun barely falls short as it has the greatest character ever created,
Vash the Stampede, it has Wolfwood, another wonderful character, and it has some of the most splendid anime humor I have ever
seen. Within the first 5 minutes of Trigun I burst into laughter, the show is just so funny sometimes..
